How to identify
an HP original cartridge
Colour shifting logo
This seal is placed
across the perforated tear strip of
the HP LaserJet cartridge pack and
on the side of an inkjet cartridge
pack . To ensure that the seal is
not fake, hold the box and tilt the
security label up and down and the
colour shifting ink will change colour
from green to blue.

The
colour of the security seal
changes from green to blue when
the pack is tilted.

- Examine the packaging
Genuine HP cartridges are only sold in
original boxes, which should not be tampered
with, re-sealed or re-taped. Look out
for the HP logo on the box.
- Check the price
HP print cartridges have standardised
prices. If you come across cartridges
that are below market price, chances are
they are counterfeit.
- Watch out for
print quality problems
Fewer than 1 in 100 HP cartridges have
quality problems. If you experience frequent
print quality problems or if a cartridge
fails often, then it is probably counterfeit.
